Handmade chasen (matcha tea whisk) by 20th generation master craftsman Tango Tanimura in Takayama. The light coloured Hachiku bamboo is seasoned for several years before a whisk is cut from a single piece.
The Kazuho type chasen is a whisk with about 70 prongs suitable for preparing Urasenke style usucha (thin tea) with smooth foam on top.
